One of the most important changes that I had in my life was when I entered to the university. At first, I was very happy of being a university student, but then I realized that university was going to be more difficult than I thought. In fact, when I started the university, the only thing that I wanted was to return to the school. University is so different from school in many aspects.
In school, I studied almost all the day, from 8 in the morning until 6 in the afternoon, but I never got tired about that. Actually, I liked to be all the day in the school sharing great moments with my friends. I had a big group of friends in my school; my classroom was so joined that I knew almost all my classmates very well. The teachers in the school were not just teachers, they were also our friends, and they always took care of us. They gave us not too much homework and the tests and exams were easy and simple. We had two shorts breaks in school, one in the morning, and the other one in the afternoon. But, what I missed of the school the most was that it was 5 minutes from my home and I could go walking to school.
Nevertheless, everything is quite the opposite in the university. First of all, I study from 8 in the morning to 1 pm. Classes in university are shorter than in school; but they are full of activities that make me feel tired. Similarly to the school, I also have a big group of friends in university, but I do not know all my classmates, they are a lot and classrooms in university are not so joined. Another big difference is that teachers in university just teach and no more. They do not care if I am studying or doing the homework, they just put the grade. In contrast to the school, in university I have a lot of homework, tests and exams, which are very difficult and complicated; and I do not have any break at all. But, the most difficult part to me is that my university is so far away from my home. My university is 2 hours from my home and I have to go by taking two...

I always wanted to come to United States of America to see my father but when I did, having to go to Bear Lakes Middle School became a complete torture and it was a lot different than I thought... On the first night when we arrived in USA, my 13 years old brother (at that time) was rushed to the hospital. The main purpose to come here was to save my brother's life. All of this affected me in a lot of ways. When my dad came home at 3:00 AM in the morning, he told me that my brother was diagnosed with Leukemia. I never ever thought that my brother would have to go through something so life threatening like cancer. Tears still roll down my eyes when I think of that night.
Then the next morning, my sister and I were admitted into Apollo Elementary School in Orlando. Days, weeks, months, and then a year went by when my brother was finally in remission (the cancer was in a dormant state). After a while, we moved to West Palm Beach where I had my worst experience in Bear Lakes Middle School. Boy, is that a BAD memory! Students in that school were plain boorish. At that time, I didn't know how to speak English very well so,...
